Work-Life Balance Doesn’t Work.

Balance treats work and life as two weights on a scale. If your business runs through your head, there is no scale. There is one system, and nobody designed it.

The claim

Balance is an industrial-era idea: the factory on one side, the house on the other, a fixed shift in between. For an owner, a CFO, a manager with two phones, that line was never there.

Why you can’t balance it

You know how to close the register when the count is off. You know what that noise in the van means. You’re the manual. And a manual that goes home at six isn’t much of a manual.

The fix is not more discipline at home. It is getting what lives in your head written down, trained, and verified, so the work can run without you standing next to it.

Where this shows up in my work

  • Write It After You Watch It: the owner who is the manual.
  • You Bought the Solution. You Skipped the Training: delivered is not adopted, in a company or in a life.
  • The Next Ninety Seconds: load before character.

Tell me which part only works when you are there.

No form. No brochure. I’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a procedure problem, a training problem, or a work-design problem.
